Super Fluortastic !

The Fluor Cares Committee invited 18 Wheels of Christmas back again for the fourth year to be a part of their Jeans’ Day Event for Food. The Fluor community never disappoints. We always leave in awe of the contributions as well as the sense of kindness exhibited by all who participate. The temperature outside was so cold (it was -27 when we arrived at 6:30am and it did not warm up) we could not be out in it for more than 5 minutes, the Fluor Cares volunteers saw this and invited us into the beautiful lobby served us coffee and hot chocolate and kept us inside for the 3 hours we are there.

To the volunteers of Fluor Cares: Vicky, Janice, Gail, Kerri, Diane, Sabrina, Garret,  Asif,  Brian, Sara,  Robert,  Michael, Talai, Steven, Kristen,  Anirudh and Varun hats off to you all. The way you greet and make us feel a part of your team is awesome. We had so much fun with all of you. Thank you again for having us. Also as the picture shows you are never too old to believe in Santa and his helper Skippy.

This year totals 13 food collection boxes for approximately 2000 pounds and $3961.46. We will be purchasing a sizable amount of the much needed baby food with this donation. All of this to wear jean’s to work!!!!

A Challenge to the Grinches out there !

We all know that everything 18 Wheels Of Christmas stands for, starts with the individual contribution, hence our motto "The Magic Begins With You!"

Here, one of our valued 18 Wheels Team Members, Dillon Rosenau is giving up his Saturday to do just that, and he has a challenge out to his family, friends, co-workers, customers and suppliers....

Rosenau will be at the Co-op Mall on 13th Ave in Medicine Hat this Saturday from 10:30-2:30 selling 50/50 raffle tickets and collecting non-perishables for Rosenau Transport's 18 Wheels of Xmas campaign. Proceeds go towards filling the trailer with high demand goods for the food bank. Tickets are only $1.00 each so everyone can get in on the action! We look forward to seeing you come out and support a worthwhile cause.

Warm Weather and Warmer Hearts !

This is our 11th year at Lake Bonavista Promenade and it only gets better!!! Our 2 favourite ladies Vyetta and Bev have always met us no matter how cold or warm the weather and they work right alongside us. The people in this community are some of the nicest and most generous people you will ever meet and we get to be a part of this community for a few hours.

Santa brought the truck into the parking lot at 9AM on the dot. Our volunteers Chris, Janet, Candace, Dale and Colleen were there to set everything up. We had hardly opened the back doors when boom there was a donation of 20 $20.00 hampers. This gave us a good start and also should have indicated to us the type of morning we should expect. We also, once again were served delicious hot apple cider courtesy of The Fridge in the Promenade. Thank you so much.

Our moment for the entire day was a young boy about 6 years old brought out a Gingerbread House Kit handed it to Santa and whispered in Santa’s ear “ I hope a little girl get this so she can make it with her Mommy” How sweet is that? Santa told him he would make sure a little girl got it. The boy’s Mom told us he had picked it out by with this very intention!!!

We ended our day with 12 food collection boxes filled to the brim; a good amount of cash to purchase the much needed baby food and smiles on our faces to last the entire year.

Saskatoon Smiles......

We enjoyed the 23rd Annual Santa Claus Parade on November 17th  seeing all of the smiling faces in the crowd.

On November 23rd and 24th we enjoyed spending time with the people from Extra Foods on Waneskewin Road raising money for much needed items such as baby food , with our ticket sales for a chance to win one of three awesome gift certificates.

We have another date set up at the Extra Foods  on Dec 14th to sell raffle tickets from 9-4pm Everyone is welcome to come and see the trailer and make a non perishable food donation, or try your luck at winning one of the gift certificates.  We will be doing the draw before Christmas and if you name is drawn you will receive a phone call.

As well we have a pickup of food at Lawson Heights School December 13 btw 1-2pm The kids are trying to stuff the vice principals office with food, it will be very nice to see the excitement on their faces when the trailer arrives.

We will also be at the Saskatoon Blades game on December 17th accepting donations.

We have been receiving monetary donations as well from other companies in the trucking industry, customers,  and suppliers. Thank you so much for your continued help to make this campaign a success in Saskatoon for those in need!

December 18th we will be at Walter Murray Collegiate for their Pep Rally. The kids there are super stoked!
December 18th in the early afternoon we will be doing a very generous pickup from Maple Leaf foods on McLeod .

Then on December 19th we will be making our delivery to the Saskatoon Food Bank and Learning Centre!
Thank you again in advance for your heartfelt donations!

Fort Nelson Is In The Game !! Year 1 !

Hard to tell with everyone standing in front of the boxes, but it was a pretty good haul for our first year. We had about 3200 lbs of food donations for the “ Christmas Food Hamper “ program in Fort Nelson. We also had a $500.00 donation at the end of the night from Bruce with Secure Energy. The folks at the Hamper were very excited to see us pull in at 9:30 Saturday morning with the food. Big thanks to Rob and his staff at Overwaitea Foods and Ken and the crew at 102.3 The Bear for advertising us all night from various locations in town during Moonlight Madness in Fort Nelson. As I said it was our first year and I believe we will just gain steam year after year. Big thanks to everyone who supported it and can’t wait to do it again next year !
